About Precision Hearing

Independent Audiology Clinic, Sydney
27 years. Still family-owned. Still independent. Still comprehensive.
That's what happens when you don't compromise on the thing that matters most: putting patients before profits.
In 1999, we took over a small Sydney audiology practice founded by ENT surgeons who believed hearing care meant more than fitting devices and moving on. A lot of clinics like it are gone now — absorbed by manufacturers, rebranded as retail outlets, stripped back to high-volume models that prioritise speed over outcomes.
We've had buyout offers over the years. We turned them down. Staying independent meant keeping the full scope of audiological services — the ones that take longer, pay less, but matter most to patients who need comprehensive care: hearing aids fitted properly with ongoing support, cochlear implant programming, vestibular assessment, bone-anchored hearing systems, and direct ENT collaboration.
Today, our family runs the practice with the same values we started with in 1999. We see patients who first came to us 27 years ago still returning for care. Some have progressed from hearing aids to cochlear implants, all under the same roof with the same commitment to their outcomes.

What most hearing clinics won’t tell you about their business model.
The audiology industry in Australia has changed significantly over the past decade. Most clinics are now owned by hearing aid manufacturers or retail chains. We’re not. Here’s what that means for you.
We Don't Work for a Manufacturer. We Work for You.
Most hearing clinics in Australia are owned, directly or indirectly, by a hearing aid manufacturer. We're not, which means we stock every major premium brand and recommend what's clinically right for you, full stop.
12 months of aftercare. The industry standard is 60 days.
Adjusting to hearing aids takes time, and the settings that work in a quiet room won't cut it at a noisy family dinner. Your 12 months of unlimited aftercare includes as many adjustments as you need, with direct access to your audiologist throughout.
Full-spectrum care. One clinic.
When hearing aids aren't the right answer, most clinics refer you elsewhere. We cover cochlear implant assessment, bone-anchored hearing systems, and vestibular testing in-house, with direct ENT relationships when surgical input is needed.
The same audiologist, every visit.
Your audiologist knows your history, your devices, and how your hearing has changed over time. That continuity matters most for patients managing progressive hearing loss, cochlear implants, or complex vestibular conditions.

The difference is genuine care, not a commission.
Family-owned. Clinically led.

Michelle had tried 2 other clinics before she found us. She'd been fitted with hearing aids twice. Both times, she was told they were programmed correctly. Both times, she still couldn't follow a conversation in a noisy room: not at work, not at her daughter's birthday dinner, not anywhere that actually mattered. Her first appointment at Precision Hearing included Real Ear Measurement verification, a clinical process that checks whether your hearing aids are actually delivering the right amplification for your specific ear canal. Hers weren't, by a significant margin. Three weeks later, she called to say she'd had the clearest phone conversation with her grandchildren she'd had in years.
