Tinnitus characteristics and hearing thresholds vary among individuals. Therefore, a tinnitus questionnaire and audiological and tinnitus assessment is needed in order to gain a better understanding of the issue and help identify the most appropriate form of management.

An audiological assessment identifies the degree of hearing loss in one or both ears and a tinnitus assessment involves matching the pitch and volume of a pure tone presented through the audiometer to the patient’s perceived tinnitus.

Once the assessment is completed, counselling is provided and the different forms of tinnitus management and what the most appropriate form for you is discussed. If Precision Hearing is not able to treat you with the best form of management suitable for you, we will direct you to the most experienced professional in that area.
